DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London
Ulster Carpets are delighted to have been involved in the recent refurbishment of Hilton Rotherhithe since its re brand by Double Tree Hilton. Working closely with ICA London, Ulster have produced a complementary array of bespoke designs for the public areas, corridors and guestrooms.
As London’s last dry dock and located close to the historical ‘Port of London’ Rotherhithe’s design was clearly inspired by London’s trade routes with a strong focus on a navigational theme. Using Ulster’s innovative PSYLO technology our London based designers were able to create delicate layers of colour, texture and pattern to achieve this.
This detailed design intricacy allows the rooms to not only be linked by colour and pattern, but to flow from one space to the next truly capturing the essence of water. From the reception where an abstracted map projection merges with a nautical compass, the striking watermarked effect continues throughout the hotel intensifying in the wharf link corridors, almost emulating the tidal surge of water as you emerge into the public areas. Hints of green and blue throughout the project, layers of sandy beiges and occasional pops of vibrant pink bring these designs to life.
Ulster has a long standing relationship with the Hilton Group both within the UK, Ireland and internationally and is proud to add DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Dockland Riverside to its list of completed Hilton projects.
