Iconic British craftsmanship is a suitable marriage for an iconic landmark hotel
After decades of producing upholstery for many of the world’s award-winning hotels, it’s no surprise that British furniture maker George Smith was top of designer Alberto Pinto’s list for The Lanesborough redesign. The company’s Northumberland based factory is home to 90 of the countries top craftsman who train for many years to master George Smith’s traditional methods. It is this combination of meticulous craftsmanship and the willingness to make any possible design in a myriad of different fabrics that made The Lanesborough such an interesting project for George Smith to complete. The result is some of its finest signature collection pieces (such as the Gold Somerville sofa shown) alongside custom designs that are completely unique to the space and will last for as long as the building will stand.
