Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, Switzerland opening Summer 2017

Posted in Future on 10 January, 2017

Opening in Summer 2017, the highly anticipated Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne will herald a new era in Swiss hospitality. Award-winning architecture, four hotels – from modern masterpiece to historic grandeur – a 10,000m² glass-clad Alpine spa and a world-class medical centre come together in a spectacular setting, elevated 500m above the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Nestled atop the Bürgenberg mountain ridge in an Alpine biosphere of outstanding natural beauty, the landmark resort seemingly floats between sky and water. Designed to seamlessly integrate into the forest surrounds, sublime tranquility and a glamorous heritage converge in a breath-taking landscape. An icon will be reborn at this ancient site; originally a medieval refuge, later the fin de siècle Palace Hotel, hideaway to Hollywood stars Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.

Connected by the majestic Felsenweg cliff path, the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne incorporates an incredible array of amenities, founded on wellness, nature and design, all set within 60 hectares of pristine Alpine forest and entirely carbon neutral. Four hotels – the contemporary Bürgenstock Hotel, visionary Waldhotel, historic Palace Hotel and rustic Pension Taverne 1879 – will combine with the impressive Bürgenstock Alpine Spa, alongside 12 restaurants and state of the art resort facilities to create this spectacular destination. A selection of private Residence Suites combine the indulgent comfort of home from home, with the amenities of Bürgenstock Resort including a concierge, housekeeping and in-suite dining.
