HBA confirms raft of new projects in Europe and Middle East
With a reputation for being the World’s preeminent interior designer, creating the signature looks of the world’s finest hotels, resorts and residences, HBA’s portfolio of live projects includes Waldorf Astoria Doha in Qatar, which will open in 2022 ahead of the World Cup. Taking inspiration from the iconic Waldorf Astoria in New York City, this project features art deco proportions and materials, with a collection of bespoke pieces masterminded by HBA. At the 43-storey property stunning contrasting marbles, including the celebrated Amazonite stone, will sit alongside hand carved plaster, églomisé mirrorwork in its vast spaces enveloped in intricately hand painted de Gournay wallpaper.

HBA is also delighted to announce that it is behind the interiors for the new St. Regis Marrakech, Morocco. In the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, HBA’s team has taken inspiration from the landscape, capturing its majestic mountain setting. With a nod to the ancient Caravansary architecture, HBA has designed an expansive interior with huge plate glass windows – a modern interpretation of the Moroccan Vernacular – that allows the landscape to become art, blurring the lines between indoors and out. Located in four distinct Riads will be the guestrooms, each with their own lavishly planted courtyards and individual desert stories. A landmark development for the Moroccan hotel scene, St. Regis Marrakech is slated to open in 2025.
Elsewhere in the Middle-East, HBA are behind the extensive refurbishment at Park Hyatt Dubai. Set to reclaim its place as the most private and tranquil retreat in the region, Park Hyatt Dubai will feature lavish rooms and suites synonymous with Park Hyatt’s refined residential inspired brand.
In London, HBA has designed the interiors for The Adria, a Grade II listen boutique hotel in South Kensington. Set to reopen in 2022 following a full interior refurbishment, HBA’s design will see the interiors of this townhouse lovingly restored to reflect a distinct Britishness that encapsulates its charming location.
Closing 2021 on a high, HBA has also completed on the interiors for recently opened properties including St. Regis The Palm Dubai, Ritz Carlton Residences Bodrum, Turkey and Four Seasons Riyadh, which all opened this year.
To support the number of critical, high-profile projects, HBA has appointed William Evans as Director of HBA Europe. Joining from 1508 London, where he has spent the past five years building the brand and growing their portfolio, working the likes of Mandarin Oriental, Rosewood and Jumeriah, William brings significant experience and market knowledge to his role at HBA.
Also joining HBA recently and based out of the Dubai studio is Roy Posey. Roy, who previously held the role of Design Director at Wilson Associates, has joined as an Associate working on high-profile projects across the Middle East.
