Plans submitted for £70m luxury hotel in Liverpool

Plans have been submitted for the development of a new £70m Vincent Residence & Hotel in Liverpool.

Developer Elliott Group has applied for a change of use to an existing planning approval to create a 306-bedroom hotel with a rooftop pool area.

The site, on Norfolk Street, currently has planning permission for 253 apartments but the decision to change uses follows discussions with local hotelier Paul Adams, who created the Vincent brand.

If plans are approved the property will offer 50 ‘over-sized’ serviced apartments, a 10,000 sq ft basement event space and a range of rooftop services, including a restaurant, lounge, spa, gym and outdoor circuit training terrace.

Developer Elliot Lawless said: “We’re working with Paul on his new Times Hotel by Vincent in Liverpool and the opportunity emerged from those discussions. We’ve just started construction of that, so this announcement is very timely.”

The Vincent Residence & Hotel will be the fourth property in Paul Adams’ Liverpool portfolio to go alongside his popular Vincent café and cocktail bar, the Times Hotel on Seel Street and the forthcoming launch of Vincent Asian Kitchen. He also operates the Vincent boutique hotel in Southport.

Adams said: “The Baltic area is creative, vibrant and bohemian and is such an intriguing and colourful part of Liverpool. The development has a great waterfront location with superb views and guests will feel they have chosen to stay in a very special place.”

If planning permission is granted, construction work on the £70m project is expected to start later this year.
