Soho House and Sydell Group reveal plans for The Ned

Posted in Future, News on 23 August, 2016

London-based Soho House & Co and New York’s Sydell Group have joined forces to create The Ned, a hotel, club and collection of restaurants in the former Midland Bank building City of London.

The building takes its name from architect Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens, who designed the property in 1924. The Ned will open in spring 2017, hosting nine restaurants, 252 bedrooms, a range of men’s and women’s grooming services and Ned’s Club, a members’ club independent from Soho House.

Ned’s Club will offer a range of rooms and facilities for members including a rooftop with a pool, Canopy Bar & Restaurants, plus Princes Street and Poultry Domes, the Vault Room lounge bar.

Ned’s Club Active will feature cardio, strength and training equipment, a boxing gym, Pilates, yoga and spinning. At Ned’s Club Relax there will be a swimming pool, hamam, sauna and steam room, plus Cowshed Spa, with eight treatment rooms open to the public.

Guest rooms will feature 1920s and 1930s style design with brass and mahogany furniture, chandeliers, vintage pieces, hand-knotted Afghan rugs and rain forest showers.

Staying at The Ned entitles guests to a temporary membership of Ned’s Club.
