Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills
Creating a cohesive architectural design inside and out, Gensler and Pierre-Yves Rochon, joined by PYR’s parent company Perkins+Will have designed the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, which is on track to open in 2017.
The hotel will be the brand’s first new build on the West Coast of North America and will join the 24-strong hotels within the Waldorf Astoria portfolio.
The Beverly Hills theme is expected to be dominant throughout the property with a strong focus on Hollywood glamour and the effortless luxury of the California lifestyle. Pierre-Yves Rochon Inc. of Paris and Chicago brings forward its internationally recognised luxury hospitality environments to California for the first time in more than a decade. Known for the interior designs of some of the most renowned luxury hotels in the world, Pierre-Yves Rochon will oversee every detail of the interior design for Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. A rich palette of burnished bronze, warm white stone, as well as Lalique installations throughout, represents the apex of master craftsmanship. With oversized guestrooms and spacious balconies creating your own Beverly Hills lanai, these accommodations will allegedly be the most unique in Southern California. Each guestroom will be well appointed with luxury elements including furnished entry foyers and floor-to-ceiling windows that will open onto large balconies creating an escape from the teeming city below.
The triple-height lobby will feature a large clock, the design signature of Waldorf Astoria. Hand-painted murals of California landscapes define the wall space on either side of reception.
The hotel group has recently unveiled a partnership with award-winning restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten who will take the helm of the hotel’s signature dining restaurant. “I’m excited to have found the perfect partner to make my West Coast debut and bring my culinary passion to one of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands,” said Vongerichten. “I truly value the opportunity to bring exquisite food and discerning guests together in one place and look forward to becoming a part of the Beverly Hills community, bringing a new inspiring environment to life and having a presence in California for the first time.”
Rising up from the vibrant energy of the streetscape, the building terraces at the third level reveal Celebrity Villa Suites with spacious private patios and luxurious gardens, ensuring a retreat that is most alluring and serene. The rooftop pool deck, available only to hotel guests, will be the loftiest and largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills. Impeccably landscaped, the rooftop gathering area will include, VIP cabanas, a lounge area with panoramic views as well as a swimming pool.
