AB Concept x Assouline – A Cultural Journey Through Light Form and Space

Posted in News on 17 January, 2019

AB Concept and Assouline have collaborated to create a luxury design book with forewords contributed by Can Faik, editor of SPACE Magazine and Hotel Spec.

From establishing AB Concept in Hong Kong over two decades ago, to designing flagship interiors for world-famous hospitality brands, Co-Founders Ed Ng and Terence Ngan are now internationally recognised as a luxury design power duo. This year, the unique stories told within each of their striking projects will be acknowledged within a new book from Assouline Publishing’s Fall 2018 Legends Collection: AB Concept: A Cultural Journey through Light, Form, and Space.

Known internationally for their sensual, multi-layered, and storytelling design style, Ed and Terence have been praised for their innovation not only in Asia but also across the world. AB Concept’s book depicts the evolution of their experimental designs and showcases projects that have cemented the design studio as a vanguard in circles of high design.

“Every project we create should be a legacy for our clients” say Ed Ng and Terence Ngan, Co-Founders of AB Concept. “We are selective and only commit to projects that we feel passionate about, those that evoke an emotional response or spark our collective imaginations. Working on the book with Assouline, it has certainly been no easy feat to showcase AB Concept’s own particular legacy on paper. When we first set out to tell our story, we knew it was going to be an incredibly journey, but what we have achieved with the book has actually gone far beyond our wildest imagination. We hope readers will be inspired to indulge in their own artistry, and transported to some of the beautiful locations featured in the book.”

With words written by Paolo Singer, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Condé Nast Traveler, the AB Concept book shares Ed and Terence’s thoughts on their own designs, and the blending of architectural use of space with a design that tells a story of its own.

AB Concept: A Cultural Journey through Light, Form, and Space highlights the duo’s individual attention to detail and the craftsmanship and thought that lies behind each design concept, illuminating the process in a new way – as a unique adventure, a story, and an unforgettable journey within itself.
