AccorHotels appoints new General Manager to Novotel London Canary Wharf
AccorHotels has appointed Jacqui McMillan as General Manager of its global flagship Novotel in London’s Canary Wharf. In her role she will be responsible for leading all of the day to day operations of the 313-room hotel.
Jacqui takes over from Philip Logan, who managed the pre-launch and opening of the flagship Novotel in 2017, which represented a £90 million investment from the group. Philip will remain within the AccorHotels family, joining the Luxury Division of AccorHotels Asia Pacific as General Manager of Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.
Jacqui has developed her career across several positions at AccorHotels, most recentlyas General Manager of Novotel London Blackfriars, where she was integral to helping the hotel achieve outstanding results in guest satisfaction as well as exceeding all financial targets.
Jacqui began her career with AccorHotels as a Rooms Division Manager at Novotel Glasgow and has also held General Manager positions at ibis Glasgow City Centre, Novotel Glasgow Centre, Novotel Bristol Centre and Novotel Reading Centre. She also managed the opening of Novotel London Brentford in 2014.
Thomas Dubaere, Chief Operating Officer, AccorHotels UK & Ireland said: “Jacqui has shown passion and commitment in every role she has undertaken during her career here at AccorHotels. Developing and retaining talented individuals is not only crucial to our success as a business but to the industry as a whole. The time is now right to turn her talents to an exciting role at our newest Novotel in Canary Wharf and I have every confidence that she will continue to be a great asset. We also wish Philip the very best as he returns to his homeland whilst staying in the AccorHotels family.”
Novotel Canary Wharf, which opened in 2017, is situated at 40 Marsh Street and at 127 metres high, is one of the tallest buildings in the area, with 360-degree views of London taking in sights including The Shard, the Olympic Park and Greenwich Park.
Visitors can enjoy amazing views of London from the top floors at the ultra-modern Bokan 37 restaurant, Bokan 38 bar and Bokan 39 roof terrace, which have already developed a reputation as destination venues in their own right. A coffee shop, Canary Coffee, on the ground floor serves the needs of the local working population as much as hotel guests.
