AccorHotels today announces it has made two new Mercure signings, the Mercure Warwick Honiley Court (Warwickshire), and the Mercure Walsall Barons Court (West Midlands). Both hotels have been signed under franchise agreements with the Talash Hotels Group.

The Mercure Warwick Honiley Court will consist of 62 bedrooms and will open as a Mercure hotel before the end of 2017. The Mercure Walsall Barons Court property comprises 94 bedrooms. Previously operating as a Best Western, it will open as a Mercure in Q1 2018.

Thomas Dubaere, Chief Operating Officer, AccorHotels UK and Ireland said: “AccorHotels has seen strong growth in the UK in both management contracts and franchise agreements over the past year. We expect this growth to continue as hotel owners increasingly see the benefits of partnering with international brands to reach, attract and retain the loyalty of guests, and with a progressive hospitality group that can provide the very best and latest services to maximise profitability.”

The Mercure hotel brand combines the strength of an international network with a strong quality commitment. Mercure hotels are locally inspired and rooted in the local community, managed by enthusiastic hoteliers who warmly welcome business and leisure travellers alike, with a selection of over 750 diverse hotels in 55 countries.

The new hotels are the fifth and sixth signings AccorHotels has made with the Talash Hotels Group. Other properties include: Mercure Chester North, Mercure Telford Madeley, Mercure Wigan Oak, and Mercure Wolverhampton. Currently, the Talash Hotels Group has a portfolio of 13 hotels across the UK with a vision of reaching 20 hotels by 2020.

Speaking of the signings, Philip Lassman Vice President of Development AccorHotels UK & Ireland said: “Accelerating our franchise growth in the UK is a key focus for us. The Mercure brand alone has shown solid growth over the past 12 months with 11 new signings in 2017, and we look forward to opening further Mercure hotels later this year and in early 2018. These new additions will bring the Mercure network in the UK to 82 hotels as the brand continues to prove a strong and desirable solution for owners and a popular choice for guests.”

Ravi Kathuria and Sanjay Kathuria; Directors of the Talash Hotels Group added: “We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with AccorHotels adding to the number of Mercure hotels we have in our portfolio six across the North West and the West Midlands. The expansion of our partnership strengthens our spring board to the future ventures that we at Talash Hotels Group have in our sights. The strength, quality and reliability that the Mercure brand offers is most certainly something we are very proud to be associated with.”
