AccorHotels Wins Big at Liverpool Hospitality Awards

Hotels from the AccorHotels network, the world’s leading hotel operator, have won five awards at the Liverpool Hospitality Awards recognising both individual and team excellence. Employees across three AccorHotels brands, ibis Styles Dale Street, Novotel Liverpool Central and Pullman Liverpool, were recognised with awards celebrating their contribution to the hospitality sector.

The prestigious judges award was given as a joint prize to both the welfare and culture committee at the Pullman Liverpool and the wellbeing team at Novotel Liverpool Central, in recognition of their cultural transformation programme. The initiative was designed to empower staff to go off script to provide service from the heart, encouraging them to use their emotional intelligence to provide spontaneous gestures that create memorable moments for guests.

The judges felt “The two winners, who showed such passion and dedication to the initiative and who share the same vision and brand have absolutely grasped what this industry needs to do across the board, to encourage people into the industry.” In recognition, the award was named “The Accor Initiative.”

  • Ibis Styles Dale Street team, Employee of the Year, Top Team – Winner
  • Mark McDermott, Pullman Liverpool, Employee of the Year, Rising Star – Winner
  • Bart Golowacz, Pullman Liverpool, Employee of the Year, Young Chef – Winner
  • Welfare and Culture Committee, Pullman Liverpool and Wellbeing team, Novotel Liverpool Central, The Judges Award – Joint winners

The Liverpool Hospitality Awards, now in their third year, recognise and reward the heroes in the industry and are the only awards in Liverpool which focus on individual contribution to the sector, rather than venues or companies.

Hotels are invited to nominate team members in each category, giving full written citations and supporting evidence in line with the requested criteria. Finalists are selected by the judges, five industry specialists, and then invited for interview.

The awards were presented at The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on Friday 2nd November.
