Almanac Hotels to debut in Barcelona
Almanac Hotels has announced the opening of the Almanac Barcelona this summer along the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. Local firm OAB Office of Architecture will overhaul two existing buildings, while Barcelona-based Jaime Beriestain Studio will lead the interior design.
Gray, beige, and gold tones were chosen throughout while accents of oak and walnut have a subtle patina to evoke warmth. Antique mirrors complement the extensive use of marble from Ibiza.
Ninety-one guestrooms will measure an average of 366 square feet, while suites will range from 484 to 1,345 square feet. A bowed window will be outfitted in the hotel’s ‘Cube Rooms’, which will maximise skyline views with a built-in sofa nook. Select accommodations will feature a terrace or balcony.
The pooldeck lounge Azimuth will offer panoramic rooftop views, as well as a bar, interior lounge, and sun terrace. The onsite Mediterranean brasserie Línia—named for the city’s iconic grid layout—will promote a laidback dining environment. The hotel’s mezzanine will host a 10-person conference space and two private dining rooms flooded in natural light. Smaller gatherings will be hosted on the lower level. A fitness and wellness centre will debut with a treatment room, steam sauna, and relaxation lounge.
