ARTIQ in Residence
ARTIQ launch artist residency experience for hospitality designer market
Leading art consultants ARTIQ have launched ARTIQ In Residence, a new experiential offering exclusively for hospitality clients. Developed in response to the evolving demands of hotel guests for live experiences, ARTIQ In Residence utilises the power of art to help operators create exciting, brand-building programmes of events, exhibitions and happenings within the highly-competitive hospitality marketplace.
“Our new artist residency offer meets both the heightened demand for experiential art by hotels and also enables hotels to create memorable, location-specific events that enhance their brand, deepen their association with their location and create an emotional resonance on the part of guests,” ARTIQ CEO Patrick McCrae commented. “For a hotel’s marketing team, the residencies provide date-specific calendar attractions for guests and an interesting reason for staying in touch.”
The first residency launched was a private-audience-only event programme with hospitality company Ennismore. Called Tea Sessions, the programme took the form of an exclusive series of artist performances by the Ukranian-born, London-based painter, Olha Pryymak, at London’s Ennismore Sessions House, a grand Grade II* listed former courthouse.
Running for six weeks, Olha offered guests the chance to experience a subversive take on the traditional afternoon tea, also incorporating her practice, which takes influences from folk medicine. Guests were offered the invitation to join her each week for an interactive exploration on the themes of dialogue, memory and wellness.
The residency culminated in an exclusive evening event hosted by ARTIQ at Ennismore Sessions House, where the artistic team brought together artists, creatives and friends of ARTIQ and Ennismore for an evening of art and experience, including an immersive installation, a choral performance and an exclusive Silent Pool gin cocktail developed by Olha and ARTIQ.
Olha’s residency also marked the launch of the ARTIQ x Ennismore Sessions House collection as ARTIQ were brought onboard to develop a bespoke art collection and strategy for the space, working closely with Design Director, Charlie North and Brand Director, Heather Pigott to build a collection that would bring together both the illustrious history of the space and reflect the creativity of the designers, artists and entrepreneurs who inhabit it.
Featuring work by local heavyweights, international creatives and young and emerging artists, the collection is both dynamic and playful, offering a series of artistic interventions built to inspire the curious and creative mind. Rotating the collection every six months as part of ARTIQ’s art rental model, the space will play host to some of London’s most exciting artists throughout the year.
