Conrad Hotels & Resorts opens second property in Japan
The Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand celebrates further expansion in Japan with the opening of Conrad Osaka. Situated on the 33rd to 40th floors of the Nakanoshima Festival Complex, and located on the prime stretch between the Umeda and Namba districts, Conrad Osaka welcomes guests to “Your Address in the Sky.” The hotel, which opened on Friday 9 June and is the brand’s first in Western Japan, commands impressive views of the Osaka cityscape through floor-to-ceiling windows in all public spaces, as well as all guest rooms and suites.
“The arrival of Conrad Osaka underscores Conrad Hotels & Resorts commitment to growing the brand’s presence in Japan, complementing its sister property Conrad Tokyo,” said Daniel Welk, vice president luxury operations, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “Conrad Osaka’s personalised service, stylish accommodations, and breathtaking views will inspire guests and become the pinnacle of luxury hospitality in Osaka.”
Exuding modern chic style infused with traditional Japanese elements, Conrad Osaka also introduces guests to authentic and vibrant experiences within West Japan’s largest city. With Conrad 1/3/5, guests will be able to enjoy unique and curated itineraries reflective of the region’s culture, art, food and adventure, developed to be experienced within one, three and five hours.
“Today marks the start of an impressive new chapter for Conrad Hotels & Resorts, as Japan continues to be a significant business and leisure destination in Asia, as well as a priority market in our growth strategy,” said John T. A. Vanderslice. “We are excited to begin welcoming guests and providing them with the intuitive service and stylish accommodations for which the brand is known.”
Guest Rooms
Starting at 50 square metres, guest rooms and suites at Conrad Osaka are among the largest in the city, offering contemporary design infused with traditional Japanese elements. All 164 rooms and suites offer exquisite views of the river or Osaka cityscape, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Digital control panels are also conveniently located in each room, allowing guests to control lighting, curtains and room temperature. Guests can also enjoy state-of-the-art amenities such as 49-inch plasma screen televisions, wired and wireless high-speed internet access, Bluetooth speakers, double vanities, rain showers, separate toilets and free-standing bathtubs.
For guests looking for something above and beyond, Conrad Osaka’s suites start from 66 square metres, with the King Executive Suite offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Osaka cityscape from both its living room and private bedroom. The ultra-spacious 220 square-metre Conrad Suite boasts an array of luxurious spaces including a lounge, dining area, bar, pantry and walk-in closet. All executive rooms and suites provide access to the Executive Lounge, which includes a private check-in/out area, as well as complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.
Dining and Relaxation
Offering four restaurants and a bar, Conrad Osaka provides dining options that will please any palate. The 40 Sky Bar & Lounge, located on the 40th floor next to the lobby, offers live music, cocktails and light meals against backdrops of unblocked river and city views. The C:GRILL introduces Osaka’s first crustacean “a la carte” restaurant with pier-inspired interiors. Its elegant dining space is ideal for special occasions and casual business meetings.
The lively brasserie-style all-day restaurant, atmos dining, serves both local and international dishes — prepared at ‘live’ cooking stations — as well as interactive service options and premium beverages. Theatrical dining experiences are available at Kura – Teppanyaki & Sushi, where chefs slice, sizzle and sear at private tables. Sushi fans will also enjoy the array of seasonal fresh fish prepared on order.
Tranquillity awaits at the Conrad Osaka Spa, where guests can rejuvenate their body and spirit in four private treatment rooms. Guests may also enjoy the hotel’s 24-hour fitness centre that offers the latest cardiovascular machines and strength training, Techno-Gym equipment, and a 20-metre heated indoor pool. Those who prefer the outdoors will enjoy the various jogging paths located by the nearby river.
Convenient Access
The adventure begins seconds from Conrad Osaka. The National Art Museum, which occupies two underground floors in Nakanoshima, houses the Osaka Science Museum, offering interactive, hands-on exhibits — perfect for children or those young at heart. The National Bunraku Theater allows visitors to experience the rare and fascinating art form of Japanese puppet theatre, while Osaka Castle has an arresting presence as one of the prefecture’s key landmarks. Travellers can join locals for lunch at Kuromon Market, famous for its fresh seafood, or end the evening with a trip down nostalgia lane at Shinsekai’s eateries and lively bars.
Located near Nakanoshima station, the hotel provides easy access to Universal Studios Japan, as well as the country’s famed train network. This allows travellers to explore major cultural sites in Western Japan, such as the historic cities of Kyoto and Nara or spiritual sites such as Mount Koya in Wakayama prefecture.
Meeting spaces
Conrad Osaka, with its pillar-free meeting facilities, is the ultimate smart luxury venue to host a board meeting, product launch or social event. There are two ballrooms, one boardroom, and one divisible meeting room, all which offer natural daylight through its floor-to-ceiling windows and showcase an expansive Osaka cityscape. The main ballroom, a 225 square-metre space that can accommodate up to 100 guests, comes with a private foyer and a spiral staircase that offers an unforgettable wedding in the sky.
Conrad Osaka offers the popular Conrad Concierge, available through the Hilton Honors mobile app, which gives global luxury travellers the ability to customise details of their hotel stay before, during, and after each visit via a smartphone or tablet.
