DOMUS consolidates to create one brand

Domus, the leading provider of tiles, mosaics, stone and wood to the commercial sector, is to merge with sister brand, Surface, to become one consolidated brand, Domus, with a variety of benefits to customers.

The unified brand was announced at the British Institute of Interior Designer’s (BIID) 50th anniversary event in the Battersea showroom on Thursday 26 November, and will be effective from 1 December 2015.

Notable among customer benefits is the expanded showroom network. The Surface showrooms in Battersea, Islington and West Molesey, Surrey will join the Domus family. These in addition to the two Domus showrooms in Clerkenwell and London, W1 mean that architects and commercial clients can now receive the same first-rate project service and technical support at the most convenient of five locations. In each showroom, customers will find the latest design-led porcelain tiles, mosaics, natural stone and engineered oak from the world’s leading and most innovative manufacturers.

Jon Newey, CEO at Domus says, “Since Domus opened its two London flagship showrooms in 2011 and 2013 there has been increasing crossover with our retail brand Surface. Merging into one brand is, therefore, a natural step with all our five London locations under one name. It removes confusion and improves service as any customer, whether architect, interior designer or private client can go into any showroom.”

The brand consolidation will streamline marketing and operating processes resulting in efficiencies to customers. Combining the forces of two strong brands will also increase the group’s purchasing and manufacturing position allowing Domus to enhance its product portfolio and deliver incredibly competitive prices together with unparalleled levels of service. The ongoing programme of workshops, CPD seminars and engaging events to coincide with some of the major London festivals, including Clerkenwell Design Week and London Design Festival, will now also be universally accessible.
