Experimental Group opens Experimental Menorca this summer 2019
Experimental Group will set its sights on the peaceful shores of Menorca this summer, opening a 40- acre hotel on the western coast of the island. The second property on the Balearic isles, after the popular Experimental Beach Club in Ibiza, this is the group’s first resort property, and was born from the desire to create a full hospitality experience on the islands, with a relaxed Mediterranean ambiance similar to the beach club.
A former finca, the collection of buildings scattered around the site will include 43 rooms, 8 of which will feature private dipping pools. The restaurant will serve a twist on the signature Spanish cuisine with interior and al fresco dining, complete with a 30 person communal table with sea views. Dorothée Meilichzon’s design will complement the island’s traditional style with drystone buildings, whitewashed walls and olive wood accents. Signature to the group’s beach properties, the cocktail bar will serve up craft cocktails overlooking the sunset with the best music on the island.
A relatively unspoilt island compared to its sister isles, Menorca is known as the green island and is designated as a UNESCO Biosphere zone to protect its cultural heritage, countryside and coastline. Experimental Menorca will provide the ideal haven from which to explore this naturally beautiful Mediterranean isle, complete with the group’s signature ‘Made in France’ hospitality.
