Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston opens

Posted in News, Projects on 4 June, 2019

The all-new Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, is in the heart of the chic Back Bay neighbourhood, just steps from Symphony Hall, Newbury Street, Copley Plaza, Fenway Park and so much more.

“Our second location in Boston is truly a jewel in the Four Seasons portfolio, with its striking architecture, modern interiors and world class amenities setting the stage for a fully customised Four Seasons experience,” says Christian Clerc, President, Worldwide Hotel Operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “Each and every detail has been thoughtfully curated, designed to ensure guests enjoy the highest standards of quality and the most genuine and personal service – the markers of a Four Seasons experience the world over.”

The soaring glass skyscraper – now the city’s third tallest building and its highest residences at 724 feet or 220 metres – was designed by Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in collaboration with Gary Johnson of Cambridge Seven Associates. Surrounding the elliptical guitar pick shaped building are streetscapes by landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh. Bill Rooney of Bill Rooney Studio Inc was commissioned to drive the design aesthetic of the Hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms.

Commenting on the Hotel’s central location, General Manager Reed Kandalaft enthuses, “In a city of so many historic treasures, it’s exciting to see the future emerging quite literally in new buildings like One Dalton Street, and even more so in the very fabric of the Back Bay neighbourhood, where Boston’s past, present and future come together, with something new to experience at every turn.”

Global dining sensation Zuma has arrived in Boston at One Dalton Street in a space that is as much a feast for the eyes as the menu is for the palate. Tokyo-based Noryoshi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt created a space inspired by the four elements of earth, fire, water and air and includes gigantic stone boulders from Thailand among richly textured furnishings lit by bamboo lanterns. The dishes themselves are designed to be shared from Zuma’s three open kitchens: the main kitchen, sushi counter and robata grill.

Spanning the entire 7th floor of Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston and boasting inspiring city views from its pool and workout areas, The Wellness Floor at One Dalton is a refuge from busy urban life welcoming Hotel guests, Four Seasons residents and day visitors.

At its heart is the Spa, with five treatment rooms including a couple’s suite. Wellness Manager McKenzie Cassidy’s carefully designed menu of therapies is highlighted by Cryotherapy Relief, harnessing the power of extreme cold for short periods combined with massage to reduce inflammation. For the time strapped, or as an add-on to another treatment, Meditation 22 relaxes and rejuvenates in just 30 minutes through application of warm and cold touches accompanied by a meditative piano soundtrack that has been especially composed to induce deep relaxation. For couples, the side-by-side Love Alchemy experience is enhanced with two essential oils blended together on the spot to reflect the needs and desires of each individual.

Also on The Wellness Floor is a fitness centre with state-of-the-art Precor equipment chosen by celebrity trainer and Four Seasons Global Fitness Advisor Harley Pasternak, and a salon offering hair, nail and makeup services. A 64 foot (20 metre) lap pool arcs along the building’s curved windows, with lounges and chairs arrayed around for relaxation and taking in the views.

The Hotel’s 215 hotel rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, with every detail anticipating the needs and wants of modern travellers, from soundproofing between floors and rooms and precision-glazed windows to at-one’s-fingertips in-room technologies.

Original works selected from the Hotel’s extensive art collection curated by Kate Chertavian are in every room and suite, as well as public spaces throughout Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston.
