Gilles & Boissier designs new Masterpiece hotel in St. Tropez by Oetker Collection
Set Amongst Nature, the Boutique Property Features 11 Interconnected Provencal Buildings in a Picturesque Hamlet-Style Setting.
Renowned French architecture and design agency Gilles & Boissier is excited to announce their work on a new luxury hotel in St. Tropez. Slated to open in 2027, the hotel is part of the Oetker Collection, globally celebrated for its extraordinary Masterpiece Hotels. This new opening will see Oetker Collection collaborate with the Pariente and Essebag families to realize this exceptional project. Envisioned as a serene hamlet, the yet-to-be-named property will comprise 11 interconnected Provençal buildings, each carefully designed by Gilles & Boissier and nestled within nature. Guests will enjoy a tranquil retreat with panoramic sea views, a sparkling infinity pool, and lush gardens seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
Strategically located just five minutes from the iconic town of St. Tropez and the famous Pampelonne beaches, the hotel will be situated on the former site of Le Mas Bellevue. The property will feature 53 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, each with private terraces. Its grounds will include a world-class wellness facility and vibrant dining and bar venues offering breathtaking views and authentic Provençal charm. Known for creating unique and poetic environments influenced by their French heritage and vision of art, Gilles & Boissier will work with Oetker Collection to bring to life the vision of a sophisticated yet understated escape, exuding tranquillity and serenity.
Dorothée Boissier, Co-Founder of Gilles & Boissier likens the vision of the hotel to the simplicity of a sailboat: “A simple gesture brings the water close enough to feel the sea spray softly caress your face. Everything here is immediate, near, as if immersed in the essence of simplicity. Unlike a yacht, where layers separate you from the sea, here, everything is within reach. An invitation to embrace the essentials, embodied in the hotel’s philosophy: “What you have is all you need”.
Inspired by St. Tropez’s signature charm, Gilles & Boissier architectural vision emphasizes a harmonious interplay of materials and textures. The lobby will feature textured plaster walls with intricate patterns and white stone flooring, while oman-inspired arches will complement warm wooden beams, evoking the character of Provençal farmhouses. Every detail is designed to balance elegance with rustic simplicity.
In the guest rooms, arched windows will open onto terraces offering stunning sea views. Boissier continues: “Raw, brushed, and moulded wood panels embrace the room like a jacket carefully placed on bare shoulders, bringing warmth and comfort. The straw headboard will complement the soothing colours of the room, while rope, a recurring design element, will gracefully adorn many details. The colours of Saint-Tropez; delicate pastels, warm ochres, and subtle pinks combine harmoniously with the sunlit, red-tiled roofs”.
Discreetly hidden from view, the hotel will create a private yet convivial sanctuary. Landscaped gardens featuring native plants and olive trees will enhance the property’s natural setting, underscoring a commitment to preserving the local environment. This St. Tropez gem will become a noteworthy addition to Oetker Collection’s prestigious portfolio, joining recent openings such as Hotel La Palma in Capri and the soon-to-launch Vineta Hotel in Palm Beach. The project reflects Oetker Collection’s dedication to expanding into the world’s most glamorous destinations, with every property upholding a legacy of unparalleled hospitality, inventive gastronomy, and timeless elegance.
