M Social Singapore launches first room service robot

Design hotel M Social Singapore introduces AURA the Relay Robot, its newest guest service associate.

M Social Singapore, part of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, has introduced the first Front-of-House Autonomous Service Delivery Robot in Singapore to its guest services team.
AURA, developed by Savioke, is a robotic solution to the hotel industry’s manpower shortage and a great way to increase productivity within hotels. The Relay Robot optimises operations and takes the guests’ experience to the next level. Not only does AURA engage guests with her ‘personality’, she also frees up the hotel team’s time so that they can focus on providing the personal, human touches that go a long way to creating a positive hotel experience.

As a hotel that embraces technology, M Social Singapore is leading the way with welcoming AURA into the team. She is the first deployment outside of the USA working alongside people in busy environments, and has been programmed to have a warm and friendly personality with human traits such as trustworthiness, politeness and dependability – to ensure guests and employees feel comfortable in her presence.

AURA delivers items such as bottled water, fresh towels, toiletries and meals to guests’ rooms and can also be dialed for room service. She is incredibly easy to interact with, using the simple communication on her tablet face so that guests are instantly aware of who she is, how she can help and how to intuitively interact with her.

Steve Cousins, CEO, Savioke commented: “If you put an item into AURA and tell her where to go, she will deliver it and then return to the docking station by herself. AURA can operate and ride in elevators, navigate her way to a guest’s door, let them know that a delivery has arrived (guest phone rings), and then open its lid for guests when they answer the door.”
