Material Lab unveils newly refurbished London Studio to mark its tenth anniversary
Visitors to Material Lab are met with a brand new showroom, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Providing all the expert advice and inspiring exhibits the A&D community has enjoyed since its inception in 2006, the studio extends its offering to include live, interactive room sets, brand new client meeting zones and a fully-stocked reading room – whilst serving as an elegant, modern canvas for all of the materials on display. It has been created using the finest materials and makers – the majority of which are UK-based.
Alongside surface materials from established and emerging designers alike, studio partners Johnson Tiles, Vado, Dulux Trade, Formica, modulyss, Karndean, Tektura and Flowcrete are allocated designated spaces for showcasing their latest products and innovations.
Darren Clanford, Creative Director of Material Lab, said of the refurbishment: “Material Lab has been at the heart of the A&D community for over 10 years, providing a place of exploration and experimentation.
“To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we could think of no better way than to expand our offering – further encompassing the elements that visitors know and love, alongside placing products in situ for a greater understanding of the best option for all projects, great and small.
“Material Lab has grown to become the go-to destination for surface design expertise, and our partnership with high-calibre, international brands, alongside working relationships with the UK’s leading colleges, universities and industry events, ensures continued reinvention to best serve our community.”
The expert team, including Jim Biddulph, Editor-at-Large, and Catherine Potter, Studio Coordinator, is led by Richard Baskerville, Studio Manager at Material Lab: “The refurbishment of 10 Great Titchfield Street marks a significant moment in Material Lab’s history. With such an integral role in the industry, it’s imperative that we continue to push boundaries to offer the most up-to-the-minute inspiration possible to our community, whilst developing our knowledge in all areas of surface design.
“Alongside our online presence, represented through our Journal and New Materials 2017 (NM17), the studio is a place of exploration – where visitors can immerse themselves in a world of creative possibilities. Whether it’s wall or floor coverings, soundproofing solutions or decorative surfaces required, we can help.”
Material Lab is located on 10 Great Titchfield Street, London.
