Posted in News on 7 July, 2016

Motel One Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt has opened the doors as the brand’s third hotel in Stuttgart, providing visitors to the city with all the benefits of a design hotel at an affordable price. The new 141 room hotel is located directly in the old town of Bad Cannstatt, the oldest and most popular district of Stuttgart.

To give customers an exceptional travel experience, each Motel One takes its design influences from its local area. Motel One Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt has taken design inspiration from the natural mineral springs and thermal baths within the region. The reception area welcomes guests with a beautiful graphic design featuring mountain scenery, rainfall and minerals. Embracing the natural theme, the reception desk has been crafted into a large stone design, matching the natural graphics. The overhanging lights are on-topic thanks to the “Falling Water” design by Occhio.

The hotel’s One Lounge, separated from the reception by waves, is filled with lots of small, hanging lights depicting water droplets throughout. Imagery of the Stuttgart water fountains and an integrated copper drinking fountain are striking features within the breakfast area.

Whites and greys feature throughout the bar’s interior, mirroring the colours of the region’s mineral springs and thermal baths. Of course, Motel One’s classic turquoise colour appears throughout too. The impressive stone bar counter was created from virgin stone and blends seamlessly with a graphic design depicting water droplets. With bubble chairs by Adelta and the iconic Egg Chairs, originally by the Danish designer Arne Jacobsen, the One Lounge is a cool and inviting place to enjoy a beverage or two after a busy day in the city.

All bedrooms are designed in the contemporary Motel One style and offer a calm and comfortable night’s sleep thanks to 100 per cent Egyptian cotton bed linen. However, this hotel is leading the way for Motel One with new in-room upgrades and accessories, including an armchair by designer Freifrau and a table by Vitra. Some rooms have terraces with views to the city walls and rooms on the top floor offer a balconies.

The bathrooms are all elegantly fitted with granite and glass Dornbracht washbasin fittings, as well as a monsoon rain shower. These bathrooms are also the first in Motel One’s portfolio to feature new organic shower gel and hand soap. Complemented with exclusive Artemide Tolomeo lighting and LOEWE flat screen TV, each room provides a peaceful escape from the city outside. Clever functional design ensures there is plenty of storage space. Guests will enjoy the benefits of free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel too.
