Ombria Resort Achieves Double Success at the Prestigious European Property Awards
Ombria Resort, the new world-leading luxury real estate development in the heart of the Algarve opening in 2020, has been honoured at the prestigious European Property Awards. Announced at the official ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster, London on 25th October 2018, Ombria Resort achieved success in two categories, being awarded ‘Five-Star’ status in both:
- Best New Hotel Construction & Design, Portugal, with the ‘Viceroy at Ombria Resort’ project
- Best Residential Development, Portugal with the ‘Viceroy Residences at Ombria Resort’ project
In their 25th year, the European Property Awards are considered the largest, most prestigious, and widely recognised programme throughout the region, judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts.
For the best new hotel construction and design category, nominees were judged on location, architecture, landscaping, interior design, innovation and commitment to sustainability. For the category best residential development, judges assessed criteria such as location and surrounding points of interest, the layout, appearance and finish / quality of the specifications of the real estate units, safety features, use of innovative technology and energy-efficiency and eco-friendly features in areas such as conservation, water and recycling.
The objective of the awards is to recognise excellence in the property industry worldwide, with Ombria Resort competing against the best real estate developments across Europe to be awarded in the two categories.

Extensive facilities and services will include a spa, healthcare and fitness facilities, several restaurants and bars, kids zone, a conference centre and swimming pools. Viceroy Residences at Ombria Resort is a branded touristic development including 65 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, part of and located within the Viceroy at Ombria Resort hotel.Ranging in size from 70 to 173 m2 of gross internal area, each of the apartments has a fully-fitted kitchen or kitchenette, living room, bedroom(s), bathroom(s) and terraces, some with their own private garden and swimming pool or jacuzzi. The apartments are sold freehold and are fully furnished and equipped to exacting five-star Viceroy Hotels & Resorts standards. Owners have access to the hotel’s facilities and services, including concierge and property management, provided by Viceroy Hotels & Resorts.
Ombria Resort’s overall design aesthetic which has been developed in partnership with WATG, one of the world’s leading integrated design firms, WATG’s interior design firm, Wimberly Interiors, and Portuguese architects PROMONTORIO, draws inspiration from the features, forms, material and themes of the ‘Authentic Algarve’.
