Dubai-based property developer Omniyat has announced it is opening 505 five-star hotel rooms and 495 deluxe serviced apartments in Dubai by 2020.

Speaking at Cityscape Global 2016, the company’s managing director, Mark Phoenix, revealed plans for several high-profile projects.

“Omniyat has made its mark on the city over the past 11 years with a number of high-profile office and residential buildings and now is the perfect time to move our expertise into the hotel and hospitality area,” he said.

“We are thrilled to be introducing some of the world’s finest hospitality brands to the city, including the prestigious Langham and the ME by Melia, which will be housed in the stunning Opus development, designed by the celebrated late architect Zaha Hadid.

“Our commitment to opening another 505 hotel rooms across the city is just the start of our plans to make our mark on the hospitality scene.”

Omniyat will be opening Langham Place, Downtown Dubai; Plot 18, Business Bay; and the highly-anticipated The Opus, Business Bay.

The company has been showcasing these projects at this week’s Cityscape Global, held from 6-8 September at Dubai World Trade Centre.
