One Day Design Challenge returns to the Roca London Gallery
Following a hugely successful first edition in 2017, the international One Day Design Challenge is returning to the Roca London Gallery next month. Taking place on Saturday 26th May, this exciting competition presents an against the clock brief in which the participants have to design a product related to the bathroom space in just one day.
The competition invites students and young professionals who are starting out in the design and architecture sectors to showcase their creative talents with the chance of winning up to £2,500 in cash prizes.
In line with its commitment to innovation and design, Roca organises the One Day Design Challenge to support and inspire new talent in their early professional careers, providing a platform to showcase their design skills. All contestants are encouraged to be daring in demonstrating their creative thinking and design knowhow whilst considering space, sustainability and well-being.
Alan Dodds, Roca UK’s Managing Director comments, “We are delighted to have the One Day Design Challenge back for a second year. Last year’s event attracted a wide range of entries from both individuals and teams who created a number of imaginative designs and truly impressed the jury. We are very much looking forward to welcoming contestants to this year’s event and seeing the innovative and unique designs they can create.”
Entries will be judged on their creativity, originality and viability as well as the clarity and graphic design of their presentations. There will be an expert jury made up of renowned architects and designers to review the entries on the day and this panel will be announced shortly.
Alongside the £1000 prize for the competition winner or winning team, cash prizes will also be awarded on the day for second and third places at £650 and £350 respectively. There is also a special We Are Water Foundation prize of £500 for the project which significantly adheres to the value of sustainability.
In addition to the cash prizes, winners will also have the opportunity to join a special workshop organised by Roca.
