PGA Catalunya Resort, Barcelona Announces €33 million investment in new hotel

PGA Catalunya Resort has confirmed that a new five-star hotel will open at the resort in June, following an investment of €33 million.

Hotel Camiral is set in the grounds of the scenic 300-hectare resort, on the doorstep of Girona and Barcelona, and will be a welcome addition to the five-star facilities currently on offer at PGA Catalunya Resort.

The 149-room luxury hotel will offer panoramic views over the resort’s two award-winning championship golf courses as well as the scenic surrounding landscapes and the hotel’s swimming pools and tranquil gardens.

The hotel is the first element of PGA Catalunya Resort’s new three-year, €53 million development plan, which will also see new a new vineyard, sports facilities, equestrian centre and a stunning man-made recreational lake added to the resort.

Designed by the internationally-renowned and critically-acclaimed interior designers Lazaro Rosa-Violán, the hotel provides the perfect combination of contemporary architecture, striking urban-chic interiors, generous space, comfort and luxury. The unique design enhances and compliments the contemporary, design-led villa development that has ensured PGA Catalunya Resort’s success to date.

June 2016 sees the soft of launch of the hotel, which has rooms ranging from standard, with views over the garden or driving range, to the executive suite which features three terraces overlooking the golf courses. The hotel adds three striking new dining options to the resort, including the distinctive 1477 Restaurant, offering European Cuisine with a distinctly Catalan influence, a lounge bistro and pool-side bar. Specialising in produce from the local area and taking inspiration from the gourmet scene on PGA Catalunya Resort’s doorstep, the chefs will feature a mix of Mediterranean and international food with a focus on local Catalán cuisine and wine.

Hotel Camiral will offer corporates individually-designed events that make the most of the resort’s facilities – from a team building day to a luxury launch event. With eight rooms that can accommodate anything from a board meeting to a conference, there is space for up to 420 delegates.
