Richmond International revamps The London West Hollywood
Richmond International was instrumental in the $11m redesign of The London West Hollywood in LA, celebrating its second decade this year.
The London-based studio was responsible for the design of the new London Bar and updated Boxwood restaurant. The studio successfully created smart yet relaxed spaces in which people can socialise in from morning to night. Boasting casual opulence and understated luxury, the London Bar is flooded with natural light, thanks to the clever use of the skylight, which reveals the bold accents and materials used throughout the interiors.
Among the design highlights is the island bar, with its studded leather panels and ‘white Beauty’ polished marble stone top. The tropical motif covering the surrounding wall is the anchor point for the whole space. Lantern-inspired light installations, collection of fresh textures and prints help create understated and relaxed luxury. The majority of the furniture is bespoke and has been specifically designed for the hotel using local materials as well as local manufacturers.
