ROSEWOOD LONDON UNVEILS ITS YEAR-ROUND GARDEN DINING EXPERIENCE: ‘THE TERRACE’

Posted in News on 5 November, 2015

Rosewood London has unveiled its latest drinking and dining destination, The Terrace. Transformed by award winning, landscape designer Luciano Giubbilei, the year-round garden terrace will enable guests to savour unique food and drink offerings reflecting the flavours and ingredients of each British season in a luxurious garden setting.

Surrounded by lush greenery, The Terrace evokes the design of a quintessential English garden with seasonal flowering plants in textural woven willow baskets highlighting the British craft heritage. Classically pruned London Plane Trees form the overhead greenery and soft glow lighting offers a subtle backdrop enhancing The Terrace’s privacy and intimacy.

The Terrace features bespoke finishings designed and created by Luciano Giubbilei in collaboration with Nathalie De Leval and specialist furniture makers Benchmark, and will serve as an extension of Holborn Dining Room, run by London restauranteur Des McDonald.

“The dining terrace is a completely new space for the hotel that resonates with its Edwardian past. A beautiful, calm, intimate, outdoor retreat, it brings the experience of a London garden and the seasons into the courtyard of the Rosewood, through the canopy of classically trimmed London Plane trees, and the seasonal planting in the bespoke willow planters. Layers of textured planting, a delicate overhead structure, soft lighting and oak furniture share a focus on detail and an emphasis on the selected materials that closely reflect the circumstances of the site.” commented Luciano Giubbilei.
