The luxury resort is Rosewood’s first property in Japan and establishes Miyakojima as a global destination.

On a remote island paradise in Okinawa, Rosewood Miyakojima will mark Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ first Japanese property, offering exceptional luxury amidst untouched nature. Opening on March 1, 2025, the resort has begun accepting reservations, inviting travelers to explore an unseen side of Japan while pioneering a new era of ultra-luxury hospitality on Miyakojima.

Rosewood Miyakojima, designed by acclaimed Dutch architect Studio Piet Boon, is built in sustainable harmony with the natural environment.

The resort draws from the history, landscape and culture of the Ryukyu Islands.

Nestled amidst sugarcane fields in the north of the island and overlooking Oura Bay with direct access to a pristine beach, the resort has 55 guest accommodations, each with breathtaking views of Miyakojima’s famous pristine waters. Embodied by Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® philosophy, the architecture of the resort draws from the history, landscape and culture of the Ryukyu Islands, blending indigenous Okinawan materials such as Ryukyu limestone with the Japanese spirit of wabi-sabi.

The resort has 55 guest accommodations, each with breathtaking views of Miyakojima’s famous pristine waters.
