Posted in News, Projects on 12 March, 2019

Sparcstudio, an independent, creative design studio with a reputation for excellence in the spa, wellness, hotel and resort sectors has collaborated on one of 2019’s most highly anticipated spa openings, The Spa at South Lodge, an Exclusive Hotel.

The 4,120 square metre spa, set in the rolling hills of the South Downs in Sussex is a stand-alone building designed to embrace the natural setting, bringing the outside in and the inside out.  Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director of Exclusive Hotels & Venues appointed Sparcstudio as the Interior Architects/Spa Designers responsible for the overall spa concept from space planning and the spa journey to the contemporary lighting design, thermal suite cabins, joinery interior finishes as well the contemporary bespoke furniture design.

Pecorelli says: “I chose Sparcstudio to work with because I liked their design. We have worked together on other smaller projects, we did some upgrades at Pennyhill Park and the Manor House Castle Coombe. It boils down to a comfort in their understanding of the brief and their knowledge of the project. Exclusive Hotels are all about the attention to detail and so are Sparcstudio.”

Pecorelli concludes: “I am genuinely, above and beyond delighted with the end result of the project working with Sparcstudio. It’s the quality and feel and the attention to detail. For example, in the sauna, you get the wow factor that we wanted, and everybody comments on it.”

Sparcstudio worked in partnership with Architects Felce and Guy to ensure a synergy with the building and interior spa experience. Offering a personalised, tailored service from conceptual design and space planning to the finishing touches, sparcstudio has created an inspired contemporary space throughout the building which creates a sense of comfort and relaxation with botanical themed, richly textured fabrics and materials throughout. Much of the design concept was inspired by South Lodge’s botanical history dating back to the 1800’s. Frederick DuCane Godman, a British naturalist and plant collector built the original house and surrounding gardens with over 360 species of trees and plants sourced from the Azores, Caribbean and Central & South America.

Renowned for its truly ‘bespoke’ design approach to every development, sparcstudio has created a unique ‘sense of place’ at The Spa at South Lodge, embracing the surrounding environment, while capturing the individuality of the beautiful country setting.
