Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh celebrates 5th birthday with grand celebrations

Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian Hotel, is marking its 5th anniversary as a Waldorf Astoria with a series of celebrations and exclusive offers throughout the month of September.

Built in 1903, the landmark Scottish property joined the world renowned Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts portfolio in 2012, bringing the brand’s internationally recognised standard of luxury service to Edinburgh.

“As an old Victorian railway station, The Caledonian has over 110 years of rich heritage in Edinburgh and we are privileged to be a part of its fascinating story. We hope that guests old and new will join the festivities as we celebrate this fantastic milestone as the capital’s luxury landmark.”

Throughout the month of September, a packed schedule of events will be taking place across the hotel to celebrate the 5th milestone and ensure all visitors are given the chance to join in the festivities. Highlights include:

The launch of a special birthday package – the ‘Landmark Experience’. Up to five guests will be able to stay in the hotel’s Caley Suite for only £5,000 during the month of September. The package includes a five-course tasting dinner followed by a five-flight whisky tasting which will be served in the intimate surrounds of the suite. The following morning guests can enjoy the hotel’s Quintessential Breakfast, as well as a visit to the UK’s only Guerlain Spa for a final spot of pampering.

A luxurious fashion show will be hosted in the hotel’s famous Peacock Alley on 15th September, treating guests to a special preview of Walker Slater’s Autumn/Winter 17/18 collection whilst they an autumnal gin-themed afternoon tea, inspired by the botanicals of Edinburgh Gin.

The hotel has won numerous awards for weddings this year and will offer guests booking their big day at the hotel a special anniversary package. The first five couples that book their wedding in September, will be invited back to the hotel for a complimentary anniversary meal each year for their first five years of their marriage

Throughout September, visitors to The Caley Bar will have the opportunity to savour classic cocktails from Waldorf Astoria properties across the globe, including Waldorf Astoria Beijing, Dubai, Jerusalem, La Quinta Resort & Club and Park City.

The Pompadour by Galvin, one of Edinburgh’s most impressive dining rooms, will give all guests whose birthday falls on the 17th September, the official anniversary, a complimentary meal if they are dining in the restaurant that evening.

And finally, The Galvin Brasserie de Luxe will hold a special Oysters and Champagne Masterclass on 14th September, which will include giving guests surprise birthday gifts, as they enjoy the luxury pairing.
