Jan Wilson given the 2016 Panaz/BCFA Lifetime Achievement Award
Jan Wilson, President of RPW Design, has been awarded the 2016 Panaz/BCFA Lifetime Achievement Award for her services to the interior design industry.
The award was presented to Jan for her lifetime of design achievements by the BCFA, the British business association for the contract furnishing industry, which covers the full spectrum of interior products and services in the UK and globally.
On receiving the award, Jan said: “It’s wonderful to have all that effort recognised. I’m reminded of the W B Yeats poem ‘Cloth of Dreams’. I see that with designers every day in my office. It’s so precious and important – that the dreams are good ones and that we tread softly on them.”
Jan graduated from the New South Wales Institute of Technology in Australia and her award-winning career has spanned throughout Australia and Europe. Widely recognised as a leader in her field with a rare understanding of the operational and commercial issues that are key to any design project’s success, Jan founded RPW Design in 1988 and continues to oversee all projects, offering creative council and complementing ideas with her artistic vision. Having graduated from the New South Wales Institute of Technology in Australia and travelled extensively throughout Europe, Jan was drawn to the UK where she specialised in hospitality interior design.
Among the many projects she has worked on, highlights include the re-design of Hotel Continental Oslo, the renovation of London Marriott Hotel Park Lane and most recently the refurbishment of the Fairmont St Andrews.
With an impressive collective global experience and portfolio of projects and awards, RPW Design is renowned for its technical prowess and sensual alchemy. While varied, each project RPW Design undertakes is unforgettable for its coherence and elegance.
