The ICONIC AWARD 2019 Innovative Interior goes to Article 160 from drapilux

The new Article 160 from drapilux demonstrates the fine art of dobby weaving. This view is echoed by the independent, expert ICONIC AWARD 2019: Innovative Interior judging panel who bestowed the title “Winner” on this fabric.

In dobby weaving, lots of warp yarns are raised and lowered by a shaft, thereby creating the shed. “The skilful use of feed and impact cartridge, the unusual melange yarn and a harmonious, yet accentuated choice of colour make this decorative fabric so unique,” said designer Kirstin Herrmann. The icing on the cake is the air-purifying function, which makes the fabric ideal for curtains or as bedspreads in hotels and care facilities.

The wool look is created with the use of an exclusive Trevira CS yarn featuring a colour-fast, cross-dyeing black component in the thread. The colours are rich and natural at the same time: all three colourways have a stripe in the linen-like area between the coloured sections.

The ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Interior, awarded by the German Design Council, recognises the very best in all areas of interior design. The award ceremony will take place on 13 January 2019 at the imm cologne trade fair in Cologne. The winning fabric can be seen a few days earlier at the Heimtextil trade fair in hall 8.0 at stand C56.
