Chelsom supplies lighting for Hilton Garden Inn Emirates Old Trafford

Following the completion of The Point and Player & Media Centre, the 150-bedroom Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground has further cemented the stadium’s reputation as an outstanding sports and events facility. The new 4* contemporary hotel is the final piece of the venue’s multi-million pound redevelopment with the hotel scheme costing £15m for the demolition of the old hotel and building of the new, more than doubling capacity in the process.

Collaborating with the design team at ICA, Chelsom created a stylish urban lighting scheme that succeeded in marrying design and quality with the latest technology. Offering timeless design with a modern twist, a selection of lighting from the latest Chelsom collection was specified and modified where necessary to meet the brief. All 150 guest rooms and suites feature customised versions of Chelsom’s Trip table lamp, floor standard and wall light in a Satin Black finish teamed with Oyster cotton shades to give a clean contemporary look.

Chelsom also supplied a series of pendants for the restaurant and public spaces in Satin Black to echo the contemporary look created in the guestrooms. A series of 6 single Manhattan pendants were chosen for the bar area providing a perfectly understated addition to the trio of statement Custom Flare chandeliers suspended above the main dining area. The centrepieces feature vertical tubular columns that flare out from a central ring finished in Satin black with Copper interior for maximum dramatic impact that emits a warm ambient light effect.

Chelsom worked closely with the design team from the outset to ensure the exacting design requirements and budget limitations involved were met without compromising the overall design aesthetic. Given the scale of the project and limited time frame in which it was to be completed, the logistical practicalities were critical and all product was stocked at Chelsom’s warehouse in Lancashire to maximise efficiency of despatch and help regulate stock control for the duration of the project.
