ENTO: Italian Design at its best
The design of an architectural space makes use of elements and furnishing accessories. The hardware for doors and windows falls into the latter category, apparently secondary, which can be a precious resource to define the personality of a project in a discrete way. The handle-to-handle approach is based on its complement, functional and aesthetic condition.
Our name is an incomplete word, just like doors and windows without mechanisms that allow them to be opened or closed. The design of the products in the range offers a personal vision, avoiding any excess. ENTO offers designers a personal and high quality alternative in the field of door and window handles.
Ento is a Salice Paolo brand, a historic classic handcrafting company founded in Cantù in 1937, positioned at the top end of the market and distributed in 80 countries. After some years of investments in the modern range, in 2018 Fabrizio and Luisa Salice, together with the creative director Davide Diliberto, decided to separate it from the rest of the Classic catalogue, to allow it better chances of development by creating a true independent brand.
Ento inherits the same concept of quality and Made in Italy by Salice Paolo, with the exclusive use of brass and controls on 100% of the samples in all stages of finishing. Design is a tool to build a strong coordinated image, a careful and never filling communication, up to the division of the range according to the concept of Architectural, Aesthetic and Special Products. A choice dictated by the desire to facilitate as much as possible the work of architects, interior designers and customers in the phase of research and selection of accessories to be included in their projects. For the same reason, we aim to extend each line according to its aesthetic and functional potentials in order to make available the greatest number of variants and accessories to complete a project with the most coordinated elements possible.
The Related Tool provides an immediate overview of the available options, suggests consistent combinations and allows a quick and effective dialogue with the company when preparing a purchase order. Each new product is born in collaboration with internationally renowned designers and emerging talents, able to imagine precise contexts of use, combinations and trends, in respect of the philosophy Ento.
The uncompromising quality of the true Made in Italy: from the idea to the design, from the molds to the finishing and checks on every single piece. The Cantù establishment boasts process water and air purification systems that comply with the most recent regulations on the subject. And again, the installation of a water-based grease system that completely eliminates the use of solvents, even those that are today declared ‘non-harmful’. The craftsmanship guarantees the highest possible quality, side by side with the systems necessary to keep the efficiency of the plant high, as the robots now able to perform the complete polishing of pieces of any complexity and the automated warehouse. The whole range is made of brass, the best material to guarantee finishes without defects, high resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents and, last but not least, for maximum sensation of weight and firmness to grip. Control on every piece in all finishing phases: this means an unattainable quality standard with automated management or sample checks.
ENTO is pleased to add the ROBOT line designed by Davide Diliberto to its official catalogue of products. Inspired by the concept of transformation, the Robot handle is a combination of regular shapes configured to extend and rotate in a manner that ensures that user’s palm and thumb will always land precisely on the intended grip area. Initially available as a door handle based on a rose and Dreykipp design, the Robot line has also been exceptionally designed with a view to extending its use beyond handles to include other original accessories, including as a push-pull bar for shop doors and as a wardrobe rod.
Like all the products in the range, the Robot is made of brass, which not only ensures a flawless finish and high resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents, but also conveys a sensation of heft and solidity to the grip. The Robot is available in chrome, satin chrome and high-performance H-Finish graphite.
In his design for Ento, Giuseppe Bavuso has created the Contour, a beautifully proportioned moulded door handle constructed around a compact spring and rosette mechanism with a diameter of 41mm. The smooth and ductile form lends stylistic versatility to the product, which therefore lends itself readily to contract work. Not only does the Contour come complete with a bespoke faceplate and latch, it also comes in a double version based on a single unit with a core insert fashioned from several materials and available with several finishes so that it can be easily customized for a given project and matched perfectly with the wood of the door on which it is mounted.
Like all the products in the range, the Contour is made of brass, which not only ensures a flawless finish and high resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents, but also conveys a sensation of heft and solidity to the grip. The Contour is available in chrome, satin chrome and high-performance H-Finish graphite.
The line draws on the iconic shape of handles of flatware, familiar objects strongly associated with the concept of living… The typical slender, tapered shape is duplicated in an uninterrupted visual effect, becoming three-dimensional and achieving the utmost functionality with the least use of material.
Spoon is available in a three-piece collection: handle, door pull and knob, all of which heighten and underscore the formal dialogue between horizontal and vertical surfaces.
As in all ENTO products, Spoon comes in brass, the best material to ensure defect-free finishes, superior resistance to chemicals and weather, and a substantial, solid hand feel. Spoon also comes mounted on the C3 faceplate in Chrome, Satin Chrome and H-Finish Graphite.
Experimentation and audacity are the watchwords to describe Trace by Lorenzo Damiani.
The design is distinguished by an original structure comprised of a tubular metal section, identical to semi- finished pieces commonly used in the furniture industry, to emphasize its nature as half object and half decorating accessory.
The deliberate “bending” of the tubular metal, achieved with a mechanical process, defines the origin of Trace. The concavity, located where the thumb would go, invites someone to grab on: a trace of the industrial process and a symbolic point of contact between human and technology.
Use of the tubular section makes it possible to endlessly expand the line, which, in addition to handles for doors and windows, includes a group of door pulls in several lengths and sizes.
As in all the products in the line, Trace comes in brass, the best material to ensure defect-free finishes, superior resistance to chemicals and weather, and a substantial, solid hand feel. Trace is available in Chrome, Satin Chrome and H-Finish Graphite.
