QMOTION UK LAUNCHES QiS TWO-WAY ZIGBEE BLIND CONTROL
QMotion UK has introduced QiS, a ZigBee operated, two-way wireless solution to control motorised roller shades. Ideal for the hospitality market, this breakthrough development provides accurate feedback on shade positioning for improved user performance, remote monitoring and maintenance use. QMotion UK enables installers in the hospitality market to integrate blind control seamlessly into hotel rooms, lobbies, function rooms and the wider hospitality environment.
“Smart technology and blind control is becoming increasingly popular in the hospitality industry and is also a high margin product category for installers,” comments Ian Claxton, Director at QMotion UK. “Fast and simple integration with third party control systems and two-way feedback are important keys to help installers fully unlock this business opportunity this market. QiS native ZigBee control now delivers these benefits for installers who can also rely on a product range that’s quiet-running, looks great aesthetically and performs consistently well as a multi-position, blind control solution.”
Available to install in either new or retrofit projects, QMotion UK makes it simple for installers to integrate blind control. QiS is easy to set up, configure and integrate. It utilises ZigBee HA 1.2 to integrate natively with all compatible devices in a Control4 automation system, with drivers also available for easy integration with Crestron, AMX, Savant, URC, RTI, Vantage and other popular control platforms via a compact QMotion Qube integration device. Each Qube can support up to 32 blinds or up to 60 blinds when used with a QMotion Range Extender on larger installations. Stand-alone control is also provided from tablets and mobile devices via QMotion IoS or Android apps.
With QiS, installers benefit from enhanced communication consistency, due to built-in signal collision avoidance over the self-healing ZigBee mesh network. Blinds can be easily grouped and automated to raise and lower to four selected, programmable positions. They feature automatic safety braking to ensure they never pass completely over the top of the roller, when rising.
Most significant for the hospitality industry, QMotion’s patented manual-override command also allows users to operate the blinds by hand, where required, without damaging the automated mechanism. This feature is ideal for hospitality installations where guests may interact with shades directly, eliminating any damage costs that may have incurred.
QMotion UK blinds are also ultra-energy efficient thanks to the company’s patented spring-counterbalancing system which keeps motor power consumption to an absolute minimum and delivers near silent operation in every application.
Aesthetics are also important. QMotion roller shade brackets are the industry’s thinnest, ensuring an easy and unobtrusive installation in commercial projects where design integrity is important. This also reduces the side light gaps to 13mm on each side for optimum room shading performance. A full range of high quality fabric design and colour options are available, including a bespoke service, enabling QMotion UK to meet any commercial design or branding requirements.
