Regnum Carya Golf and Spa Resort, Antalya, Turkey
Located in the popular southern Turkish region of Antalya, Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort is spread across an impressive 1,000,000sqm.
Can Faik explores whether the hotel has completed its aim to
offer something different than other hotels in the area…
The location of the hotel on the Mediterranean coast of southwestern Turkey is the first inspirational part of the design process. It is located in-between the blue Mediterranean sea and green golf club space. The nature, organic forms, surfaces, patterns and textures are the main element of concept design. In addition to this, the meaning of ‘carya’ is the second element of conceptual approach to the project. The mythological mean of ‘carya’ refers to Carya Illinoinensis, the name of a walnut.
The leaf form of Carya Illinoinensis (walnut) is used as three-dimensional objects and the pattern of the leaf is used on two-dimensional surfaces of the space. The steel separator located in the entrance of the lobby, which separates the corridor and 25-metre high atrium, has leaf patterns on the surface. It is possible to see the same pattern on huge leaf sculptures and the textured surface behind the reception desk. Indoor green recreational spaces create a transition between interior and exterior spaces. Interior design was conceived as being natural, transparent and fluent. The steel surface that separates the atrium and the corridor turns into a lighting element on the ceiling in the shape of water drops. The area is a total of 1800 square meters and the height is 25 meters in the atrium.
The Öztürk Group, operating across a range of areas and, particularly, in the energy sector, presents guests with a world in which every detail is carefully considered, and a luxury approach is applied to each and every individual.
Constructed by Regnum Turkey, exterior and architectural design by Profil Mimarlik, and the interior architecture was designed by Arketipo, which, under the guise of Mert Yanpal, is renowned around the world for its domestic and overseas projects.
As a recent host of the G20 Summit, Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort houses outstanding conferencing facilities, two internationally recognised golf courses, an organic spa, four á la carte restaurants, eight bars and an on-site nightclub, catering to each and every individual traveller’s needs.
