VIN + OMI launch MERGE at Sanderson
Following a successful London Fashion Week collaboration, visionary designers VIN + OMI curate pop-up art exhibition at Sanderson to celebrate Frieze London
Sanderson London, a hotel synonymous with fashion and design, has partnered with the experimental design duo VIN + OMI to launch MERGE, a unique pop-up gallery that will be exhibited in the hotel exclusively, during Frieze London. Merging well-known international contemporary artists with urban and emerging underground artists – VIN + OMI have curated three ground floor spaces at Sanderson and will even be giving guests the chance to purchase a piece of original artwork from The Shop at Sanderson.
Launching on the first day of Frieze London and running for four-days, the exhibition will go on display across Sanderson’s Billiard Room, Purple Bar and Shop space; and will feature works from big names such as Banksy, Dran, Shephard Fairey, Mao Yanyang, Saul Zanolari, the darkly stylish Lithuanian artist Natalie Shau and Polish street artist Sainer. The elusive artist, Maude Trout, who is already featured in the collections of many of the art world’s elite dealers and collectors, (as well as in the homes of famous names such as Jools Holland and Marsha Williams), will also reveal exclusive new works at the four-day exhibition.
As part of the collaboration, Sanderson will also be offering an art-inspired pop-up bar and cocktail menu within The Billiard Room, where the iconic and original John Piper stained glass window will offer the perfect backdrop to enjoy some contemporary art and cocktails.
Known worldwide for their work with fashion and design, VIN + OMI regularly collaborate with the world’s leading music and media figures to produce bold creative outcomes. Already boasting a large body of work in the Arts world, VIN + OMI have curated exhibitions internationally and regularly act as consultants and curators to a wide range of organisations and individuals including The Historical Royals Palaces, MOCA LA and multiple contemporary international artists.
Founded in a former printing house and fabric showroom, Sanderson has always had strong connections to art and design. The Grade II listed building boasts Philippe Starck interiors, mosaic creations by Jupp-Dernbach Mayen, exclusive Ian Schrager art collections, Pierre Paulin and Adelta bespoke furniture in the lobby area, and eclectic pieces such as the the signature red lips sofa, an original Edra sofa from 1970.
Sanderson, as part of the Morgans Hotel Group portfolio, will also be offering a special Frieze London package where guests can enjoy an overnight stay, one cocktail voucher and one ticket per person to Frieze London and Frieze Masters. For more information, please visit: sandersonlondon.com.
